Now, just for fun, I'll attach a video of me floating a loose foil, with shaky hands, this video is great in demonstrating how the foil can easily be floated. At 100µg/sq.cm there is really no need to prep the foil by humidifying it, clearly it is releasing on its own. I always use warm water no matter what areal density. As this float was for demonstration purposes, I didn't worry about wearing gloves. Watch for the air bubble that escapes out the right side :) shaky

I will post another video, asap, with me picking the foil up on a frame. Can you show me a picture of the type of frame you want used as an example? Is it closed on all sides, or does the foil have to be freestanding on one side (or more)?

Here is an answer submitted to me directly on this question: "You are right that the PCG-1000 would typically be used on the 18-9. The problem is how tight of beam, transmission wise, you want to have on a beam line. The typical 18-9 has varying beam line tightness and if you want really tight beam (>85% transmission) #1 beam line then you could use PCG-400 but you can use PCG-1000 for good tightness (>70%) but the PCG-1000 foil would cause the beam on #4 to be exploded to double what it is on #1 (45% -60%). You would need PCG-400 on #4 to get tighter beam."

Input I have is measurements for cutting the foil for a Siemens RDS111/Eclipse. It is  .5 x .45 inches for a perfect fit. I wonder what your holder is made out of, graphite? Have to consider the thermal expansion, in this case if you actually need the foil to get tighter, the mount chosen could need to expand gently, as things warm up.
